Internship

I really hate the thing about internships. You can't get a job unless you have one, and sometimes you can't get an internship unless you have previous experience! It really frustrates me, especially because I don't look exactly amazing on my resume! I haven't done a lot of things, and especially in the fashion public relations field, I've done nothing! All the internships I want are for fashion p.r. firms, most notably, Paul Wilmot Communications! They represent a lot of celeb-turned-designer brands, such as Sean Paul, William Rast (Justin Timberlake), J.Lo, and L.A.M.B., and House of Dereon.

I am still in contact with one of the people that works there, and I asked them to please let me know if anyone needs any extra help. I am completely ready to jet to New York City (where I would have a place to stay) if the moment calls for it. Ahhhh.

I want to breakaway from this monotony of going to work at Blaffer as a gallery attendant and move on to something I feel more passionate about!

RANDALL'S RANT!

Today is Memorial Day and on this day, it is rainy, which generally puts me in a bad mood. But I try to have a good outlook. Anyway, in preparation for our "Memorial Day Feast", my dad and I had to take a trip to Randall's to get our ingredients. To make a long story short, we shopped and got everything, and as we were coming out and I had the basket and as we were walking in the parking lot, I was passing by a car, and I noticed that it had its brake lights on, and so I started walking past it and as I was doing so, the car started backing up... so I hurried up and got out of dodge. What the heck man?! I'm trying to walk here!

So then NATURALLY, I look at the car and its nasty woman and I give her the meanest glare EVER in the history of world. I kept on looking back because I was so pissed off. WHO BACKS UP WHEN THERE ARE PEOPLE BEHIND THEIR CAR?! Anyway, so we walk over to the car, and start loading the groceries in the back and the car is driving by slowly, and the nasty woman (who turned out to be white) has her window rolled down with her hands raised, like, "WHAT?!" and I looked at her like fire was in my eyes, and put down my groceries, and I was like "WHAT'S UP?!" and she kept on looking, so I made the motion of "TURN AROUND" like 8 million times with the GREAT fervor. lol. I was SO mad.

They finally drove off, and I told my dad, "She was about to get beat in the parking lot of Randalls!" He just laughed! I was SO mad. Yeah, so that was my rant.

But you know what, she probably has a hard life, so I shouldn't blame her too much. UGGGH.

New Post @ Cougar Style

Check out http://cougarstyle.blogspot.com for a new post!

That's Good Yaki!

I had some good sushi with my sister, Brandi, and Sam tonight. Now I finally know what a phoenix roll, and all these other good things are. Sushi is muy caro! (expensive en Espanol!) But I think was worth it. After that we had some gelato. I have a weird aftertaste in my mouth though. It is sort of peppery, and I feel like its a part of the Crunchy Eel roll that we had.

But so far, my favorite sushi roll is Tiger Eye! So good. So creamy! And it was so weird that the Philly Roll we had tasted like a baked potato in the middle. I think that it was because of the cream cheese in it.

I straightened my hair, but I feel like it was in a funk or something because I felt like my hair isn't as straight as it was when I first used to straighten it! :/ Or maybe it was just because it was really humid outside!

In other news, Rosie is leaving the view three weeks early! :/ I agree with Rosie in this fight, and I think that Elizabeth Hasselbeck/back is so annoying and STUPID. I don't understand how you can think that the war in Iraq is a good idea when 70% of American people (and countless other people in the world) and POLITICIANS think that it was NOT a good idea! Ugh. I think that she is so brainwashed about being a Republican/conservative that she just BLINDLY agrees to things that she thinks that conservatives agree with.

I would say that I am a Democrat, but there are things that I don't agree with, or have questions about. I look at things as issues, not as things that a Democrat/Liberal person should agree with. For example, gay marriage. Not completely sure how I feel about that... and as a Catholic, I am pro-choice, even though that is not necessarily how Catholics are supposed to feel. But stem cell research, WE SHOULD DO IT!

I just hope that people vote based on the ISSUES, not what they think they should vote for just because of their political affiliation!

Costume Met Picks & Pans

I know there have been numerous postings about this event, but I wanted to share my two cents! Here's how I felt about some of the fashion choices on the red carpet.

A MESS:

Jessica Simpson looks horrible in this dress. Her hair, makeup, everything, just looks TACKY. Well, I take that back, I kind of like her hair.

Cate Blanchett is usually my girl. She is one of the few A-List actresses that actually takes chances on the red carpet. But here, I think she just looks A MESS. I heard that she was hosting and she was going for the edgy look, but her makeup and hair really don't enhance the dress. The dress itself isn't so bad, but you put them all together, and they just don't work.

DIVAAAAAAAAAAS!

How gorgeous does Iman look in this stunning white pantsuit. Her hair is kind of crazy, but it's Iman! Plus, I am a sucker for black woman/white guy couples! Look how dapper David Bowie looks!

Paula Patton and husband Robin Thicke are one of my favorite couples! They are so beautiful together. Paula looks GORGEOUS in this white dress and I am thankful to see Robin Thicke in something other than shell-toes. (adidas...)

BEST DRESSED
Camilla Belle looks ethereal in this beautiful Gaultier Paris Haute Couture gown! Her hair, makeup, and dress all go together. She is definitely on my list as one to watch for her style choices. Classy and glamorous!

Cooking

There are a couple of things that I would like to work on during this summer, and one of those is cooking! I found this recipe, and I want to make it. In fact, I am going to go to the store and get the ingredients soon!

Hearty Broccoli Dip
Cook time: 2-3 hrs (in a slow cooker... but I don't have one, so I am just going to cook it over regular heat!)

1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. velveeta cubed
1 can of condensed cream of mushroom
1 package (10 oz.) frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
2 tablespoons of salsa

In a skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain/
Transfer to a slow cooker. Add cheese, soup, broccoli, and salsa. Mix well.

Cover and cook for 2-3 hrs or until heated through, stirring after 1 hour. Serve with tortilla chips!

*If I make it, I'm going to take a picture. Happy Cooking!

Kerry Washington: My New Style Icon

For years... okay maybe not years, but for a while, I have searched for a black actress or model or anyone in the public eye, that had style that I loved! It was Halle Berry, but I've moved on to Kerry Washington now. Whatever she wears is amazing and she looks great in it!

She really knows how to wear things to flatter her body. She's not flashy like some other people (Beyonce...) and is just classy and still glamorous!

eh

All my recent blog quests have inspired me to restart my blog. I had one in the 10th grade (which was like 2001!) but I think blogger.com erased that one long time ago. At least I hope so. I intend to post things about fashion and celebrities, as well as random observations made in my life.

Like the title of my blog, this is just a place for my ramblings... which are a lot. YAY.
